The working principle and advantages of gasoline water pumps

operational principle

The common gasoline engine water pump is a centrifugal pump. The working principle of a centrifugal pump is that when the pump is filled with water, the engine drives the impeller to rotate, generating centrifugal force. The water in the impeller groove is thrown outward and flows into the pump casing under the action of centrifugal force. As a result, the pressure at the center of the impeller decreases, which is lower than the pressure inside the inlet pipe. Under this pressure difference, water flows into the impeller from the suction pool. This way, the water pump can continuously absorb water and supply water continuously.

form

A gasoline engine is an electric spark ignition internal combustion engine that uses gasoline as fuel. Gasoline engines generally adopt a reciprocating piston structure, consisting of the main body, crank connecting rod mechanism, valve system, fuel supply system, lubrication system, and ignition system.

General system composition of small gasoline engines:

(1) Crankshaft connecting rod system: including piston, connecting rod, crankshaft, needle roller bearing, oil seal, etc.

(2) Body system: including cylinder head, cylinder block, crankcase, muffler, protective cover, etc.

(3) Fuel system: including fuel tank, switch, filter, settling cup, and carburetor.

(4) Cooling system: including cooling fans, induced draft hoods, etc. Some backpack spray dusters have a cooling port on the rear volute of the large fan, and the cooling air flow is led out from the induced draft hood, so there is no need for a separate cooling impeller.

(5) Lubrication system: Two stroke gasoline engines use a mixture of gasoline and lubricating oil for lubrication and fuel supply systems. The lubrication and fuel supply of a four stroke gasoline engine are separated, and the crankcase is equipped with a lubricating oil level gauge.

(6) Valve system: A four stroke gasoline engine consists of intake and exhaust valves, rocker arms, push rods, tappets, and camshafts. A two-stroke gasoline engine does not have intake and exhaust valves, but instead has intake, exhaust, and exhaust ports on the cylinder block, which use the up and down movement of the piston to open or close each air hole.

(7) Starting system: There are two structures, one is composed of a starting rope and a simple starting wheel; Another type is a rebound starting structure with spring engagement teeth and protective covers.

(8) Ignition system: including magneto, high-voltage wire, spark plug, etc. There are two types of magnetic motors: contact type with jump frame structure and contactless electronic ignition circuit.

advantage

Gasoline engines are lighter, have lower manufacturing costs, lower noise, and better low-temperature starting performance than diesel engines, but have lower thermal efficiency and higher fuel consumption. Motorcycles, chainsaws, and other low-power power machinery are commonly equipped with two-stroke air-cooled gasoline engines in order to be lightweight and cost-effective; Fixed low-power gasoline engines, in order to have a simple structure, reliable operation, and low cost, mostly use four stroke water-cooled engines; Most cars and light trucks use overhead valve water-cooled gasoline engines, but with the increasing attention to fuel consumption issues, diesel engines are becoming more widely used in these types of vehicles; The engines used in small aircraft are mostly air-cooled gasoline engines with hemispherical combustion chambers in order to be lightweight and have high lift power.
